Guinea Pig's Definition of Spring

Spring grass means happy pigs

Never mind what their groundhog friends say. For the pigs, spring officially arrives when they can finally start grazing on fresh grass outdoors.

Last week it warmed up enough for them to have their first grass munching session of the year. There was much rejoicing over the return of lawn mowing duties. Happy purrs and frenzied chewing were heard as the peegs expressed their approval. You could see it in their eyes, "it's GRASS must stuff my piggy face as fast as I can".

True to form, Revy began chowing down before her feet even touched the ground. Abby-Roo was right behind her. Truffle and Belka scrambled off to distant corners of the enclosure - all the better to avoid possible capture. Peaches and Poof were content to eat where they had landed. Hooray for spring!

  2. Your pigs are so cute! I wish I could let my pigs enjoy some grass outside but unfortunately we just got about 6 inches of snow last night. Hopefully it melts soon!
