A Guinea Pig Christmas

Feliz Navidad! Wishing you a happy, food-filled holiday season from all of us here at Cali Cavy.

The girls have been busy spreading holiday cheer (and piggy beans) from their festively decorated cage. Poinsettia fleece, embroidered stockings, themed cozies, a fleece sleigh, lights, and tinsel garlands - the whole shebang.

But the best way to celebrate? With your favorite foods, of course. Last year's edible veggie tree was a hit so we built another with the usual favorites: lettuce, cranberries, carrots, and bell peppers. The pigs were all too pleased to demolish it again.

Bonne année et bonne santé!

  3. The base is actually a bunny chew toy - I saw it last year at For Other Living Things and picked it up. The girls aren't particularly interested in it but it does make a good prop!

  4. We decorate the tree, and they pull it apart! Very cute.

  5. haha so cute! I miss those chubby faces! Cute tree - I wondered how to get it that shape without using the floral foam shapes that a pig might accidentally ingest. Good idea!
