Somehow, Peaches always manages to create the goofiest veggie beards. Above is the piggy face I was presented with after her encounter with a particularly juicy pile of lettuce.

On cavies, veggie beards are not actual beards, but rather a figurative beard composed of dripping vegetable or fruit juices that the pig has managed to accumulate on his lips, chin or neck fur. This grubby yet adorable phenomenon can be observed after a spirited meal.

Peaches vs Cherry Tomato


Peaches recently battled a small regiment of cherry tomatoes at mealtime. It is unclear who won the battle, the determined little guinea pig or the tomatoes.

One can argue that since Peaches devoured the tomatoes (as evidenced by the juice dripping down her chin), she was victorious.

Peaches: This isn't a beard, its a fashion statement.

As you can probably tell by looking at the pigture above, Peaches loves to eat. Of course, all of us guinea pigs do, but Peaches takes it to another level - she can often be found continuing to chow down at the food bowls long after the rest of us have eaten our fill and gone to bed.
