When they hear the words "animal abuse", most people think of cats and dogs. However, guinea pigs and other small animals suffer from abuse as well. Nonetheless, a little care and compassion can go a long way towards saving a guinea pig's life.

Revy loves getting fruit as treats - apples, oranges, watermelons, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries... when it comes to fruit, this is one guinea pig that does not discriminate! Our humans think she has quite a sweet tooth.

It's almost Christmas, and Truffle is excited to see what Santa will leave under the tree! She was so excited, she even came up with her own holiday Piggy Song.

As you can probably tell by looking at the pigture above, Peaches loves to eat. Of course, all of us guinea pigs do, but Peaches takes it to another level - she can often be found continuing to chow down at the food bowls long after the rest of us have eaten our fill and gone to bed.

Who says guinea pigs can't climb? Revy decided to demonstrate her climbing skills the other day when a stray Swiss chard leaf fell on the top of her hideaway tent (the fleece cloth was being washed at the time, see what it looks like fully assembled here).

Every human has experienced days when they just don't want to get out of bed in the morning. Well, the same is true for us guinea pigs! Except when humans stay in bed they get called lazy - when piggies stay in bed (or in this case, our cuddle cup cozies) whee get called cute.

Nopiggy can accuse Peaches of not having any holiday spirit! She does love to pose for photo shoots, perhaps even more than the rest of us guinea pigs do. Of course, she also does love eating, and since whee piggies are paid in edibles...

Poof decided that this holiday top hat was a perfect fit for her. Whee piggies have to admit, it does look quite nice against her rosettes.

Here's another easy toy you can make for your guinea pigs using a cardboard shoe box. As with anything else you give your piggies, just make sure to remove all potentially chewable materials (such as labels, packaging tape, or stickers).

Revy decided to oblige our humans by posing for a few holiday piggy snapshots. She was unusually well behaved for all of approximately five minutes, which is a record for her!
